Strong Second Half Lifts Lady Apaches Soccer Past Eastern
The Wabash Lady Apaches soccer team improve their record to 9-1-1 on the season with a 3-0 win over Eastern High school Saturday.
Wabash created multiple scoring opportunities with shots from Mallow, Lutz, Gunderman, Thomas, O’Neill, Boggs, Davis, Yoakum and Ballshmidt, but the game remained scoreless at halftime.
The Lady Apaches kept the pressure on and found the back of the net 3 times in the 2nd half! Senior Madi Lutz had an unassisted goal, Sophomore Rylee Yoakum buried a shot off a Ballshmidt assist and Yoakum again by putting in a corner kick.
Sophomore Hannah Layne had her 4th shutout of the season in goal with 6 saves. The defense was solid again today with O’Neill, Ballshmidt, Boggs and Jones with Gunderman providing strong defensive minutes too.
The Lady Apaches are back in action for their last home game and final game of the regular season Wednesday at 6:00 vs Oak Hill.
