Manchester wrestling demonstrated improvement and won the team trophy for the 6th consecutive year in the event which has traditionally been held at Caston. Manchester finished 1st or 2nd in 10 of the 11 weight classes where wrestlers competed in the event! Several wrestlers bumped up a weight and won multiple times, including Sophomore Jordan Ayres who won the event for the second time in his career. Senior Jacob Caudill was able to break through and win the individual title and Freshman Preston Duffy improved his season record to 8-0 with a nice day primarily wrestling up a weight class. Several Squires really battled for the team despite losing once, including Sophomore Raven King who came up a point short of the title and senior Izzy Serrano who fired up the team with 2 big pins. The Squires battled hard throughout the lineup and only gave up 3 pins as a team on the day. Manchester will look to improve on a quick turnaround to a home meet Tuesday night at 6:30 pm vs Lewis Cass.
