Norse Boys Fall At Eastern
The Northfield boys fell at Eastern 50-48 Tuesday.
Leading scorer Eli Mavrick of Eastern hit his only shot of the second half with 1.9 seconds to go to give Eastern a 50-48 win over the Norse as a last second half court three from Clayton Tomlinson bounced off the back of the rim. The Norse trailed by three with 22 seconds to go when Jayden Peas drained a three from the top of the key to tie the game up
Leading the way was Tomlinson with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Peas scored 6 to go with 5 rebounds. Kaleb Krom also scored 6 and tied Tomlinson for rebounding honors with 8. Eli Kroh scored 4 points and added 4 rebounds. Dillon Tomlinson scored 4 points in 11 minutes in his first action in a week. Alex Haupert scored 3 points and had a team high 4 assists. Jake Halderman scored 3 points. Jaxton Peas came off the bench to contribute solid defense and 3 assists.
The JV game was also hotly contested before the host Comets pulled away a 44-40 win
Tristan Hoffman led the Norse with 10 points. CJ Long scored 9 points, Jaxton Peas scored 7 in his half of play. Kody Stambaugh and Noah Burkhart each scored 5 points and Eric Tracy tossed in four.
