The Wabash junior high girls opened RRC tourney play Monday against Tippecanoe Valley.

The 7th grade fell to Valley 25-18

All of the Apaches contributed in the game. Keeping the score close and closing the gap from their 12 point lost to Valley in the regular season, the girls fought the good fight from start to finish. Brianna Brooks contributed by snagging two rebounds and putting up two shots within the two point range for her team. Bryleigh Boggs went four for six from the free-throw line, contributing to the 10 points she scored and carrying five rebounds. Boggs also worked hard defensively to keep Valley’s number one scorer down off the board. Haylee Friend worked hard defensively, helping to keep any Viking she guarded away from the scoreboard while also taking the ball to the hoop and making a free-throw attempt. Logan Wright was a versatile player for the night, at points having to bring the ball down the floor during press breaks. Wright was able to put four points on the scoreboard while also grabbing six rebounds and blocking one of the Lady Viking’s shots. Jaycee Jones, played strong as a post after having fully recovered from her surgery by keeping hold of the ball. Jones also contributed four points to the scoreboard and kept with the number four on her rebound as well. Olivia Burns was a hustler, working to keep the ball in bounds and adding motion to the floor. Burns unfortunately suffered an injury at the end of the first half, keeping her out of the second but her effort was not unnoticed by her team. Olivia Shepler provided a rotation and grabbed a rebound which led to an offensive shot to be put back up. The Apaches worked well and hard as a team, proving that when they work together they are able to keep up with the best of them.
