Norse Take Down Culver


The Northfield boys defeated Culver 61-52 Tuesday.

The Norse defense swarmed the visiting Culver Cavaliers in the third quarter to open up a close game.

Leading 29-19 at half following a three pointer at the buzzer by Eli Kroh; the Norse went to a half court trap in the third quarter and stretched their lead to 15.

Leading the way for the Norse was Clayton Tomlinson with 16 points and 6 assists. Jayden Peas scored a career high 14 points adding 5 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 assists to go with a couple of blocked shots. Dillon Tomlinson rounded out the double digit scorers with 11 points and 5 steals as the Norse recorded 18 steals on the night.
Alex Haupert and Eli Kroh each scored 7 points. Kaleb Krom scored 2 points to go with a game high of 9 rebounds. Jake Halderman also scored 2 points and added 7 rebounds as Jaxton Peas added 2 points.

The JV went down early as Culver hit their first 6 threes and led early at 16-0. The Young Norse then played an even game dropping a 53-32 match. Noah Burkhart led the way with 11 points. Eric Tracy scored 7 points as Kody Stambaugh and CJ Long each scored 5 points. Rounding out the scoring was Kamden Carpenter and Ryan Brunett with 2 points each.
