Northfield 6th Wins Thriller Over Manchester

The Northfield 6th grade girls won a barn burner 35-33 over Manchester Monday.

Manchester got off to a quick start and were up 6 – 0. The Lady Norse fought back to end the 1st quarter down one, 11 to 12. Faith Krom and Laney Haupert led the charge in the 2nd quarter to help us gain the lead by one with a score of 19 – 18. The Lady Norse built on their momentum in the 3rd quarter to extend the lead to eight with a score of 28 – 20. Manchester hit some key shots and converted at the free throw line to regain the lead in the 4th quarter. The Lady Norse showed a never die attitude, played with heart & hustle, and took the lead back with under a minute to go. The Lady Squires tied the game up with about 30 sec left. Viv Haupert got the ball and headed to the bucket with 6 seconds remaining on the clock … she shoots … and scores … to put the Lady Norse up by 2 for the win over the Lady Squires 35 – 33

Laney Haupert led the Norse with 10. Faith Krom added 7 points and pulled down 10 rebounds! Viv Haupert had a big 4th quarter with all 6 of her points coming late in the game and hitting the game winning shot! Claire Brainard added 4 points. Emma Wilson had 3 pts and 5 rebounds. Mikayla Meyer and Millie Higgins added a bucket each and Nichole Fisher hit a free throw
