Wabash JH Soccer Falls To Peru
The Wabash Middle School soccer team fell to Peru 4-1 Friday.
The Apaches battled strong offensive pressure from Peru throughout the game. After succumbing to two Peru goals, Jonas Church stepped up and drove a cross through the Tigers’ defensive line into the far corner of the net, scoring Wabash’s lone goal of the game. The Apaches went into halftime down 2-1. Coming out of the break, Peru put two additional goals on the board, ending the contest at 4-1. Defensive efforts were led by Ashton Coffman, Andi Stout, Jaycee Jones, and Ezra Church, with Church cleaning up innumerable Peru attacks on goal. In goal for the Apaches, Kristian Stanton ended the night with an impressive 13 saves.
