The Wabash Middle School soccer team fell 5-2 at North Miami Thursday.
The Warriors were first to establish a presence on the field with their aggressive play and a deluge of shots on goal. Poor field conditions slowed the Apaches down, and despite strong defensive efforts, Wabash allowed five goals in the first half. The Apaches came out of halftime with intensity and worked several successful passing combinations through the middle of the Warrior’s defense. Ty Carpenter settled into his striker position and put away two laser shots across the Warrior’s 18 to get Wabash on the board. In another impressive performance, Wabash’s Kristian Stanton had 14 saves on goal and, with the aid of the Apache defensive staff, shut out North Miami in the second half. The contest ended in the Warrior’s favor at 5-2. Wabash will host Warsaw’s Edgewood Middle School on Monday, May 3 at 6 pm.
