The Northfield junior varsity baseball team went 1-1 at the New Haven Invite Saturday.
The JV Norse baseball team beat New Haven 10-0, largely off the arm of Reece Rosen. Reece had a no hitter going through 5 2/3 innings. Offensive efforts were led by Justin Nelson with a triple, double, and a single; Jayden Truman with a triple, single, and 3 RBIs;
The JV Norse baseball team lost the second half of the New Haven Inv by dropping a game to South Adams 11-13. The Norse started strong under the pitching of Brandon McKillip by leading 9-2 after 4; contributing was Bryce Smith with a two run home run. In the 5, The Starfires out scored the Norse 9-2 evening the score up 11-11, and then racking on an additional 2 for a final of 11-13. Offensive marks for the Norse were Bryce Smith with a home run, a double, a single, and 3 RBIs; Justin Nelson with a double and a single; and Mason Osborn with a double, single, and 2 runs scored. The Norse next travel to Southern Wells on Monday, May 3.
