Manchester Squires Boys Golf was at Max Welton Golf Club Monday to face off against West Noble at their home course. West Noble narrowly defeated the Squires 195-198.
Leading the Squires varsity was Owen Krushwitz with a 37, earning him medalist honors for the evening. Second was Conner Lauer with a 50, followed by Jackson Felgar with a 52. Brady Wiley and Caden Egner rounded out the top 5 with a 59 and 65, respectively.
The JV had a good evening, led by Isaiah Burlingame’s 52. The highlight of the night, however, came from freshman and first-year golfer Preston Duffy. After hitting a 290 yard tee shot on the longest par 4 on the course, Duffy lined up from 135 yards and hit a perfect 9-iron, which took one hop and found the bottom of the cup for an eagle 2 on his way to a 53. Following Duffy was Zach France with a 57 and Finn Sincroft with a 60.
