Knights Reload To Top Rochester
The Southwood Knights reloaded from last year to open the season with a 45-26 win over Rochester Friday. The Knights have now won 34 consecutive regular season games.
Joey Bland would get the Knights going with a 15yd run for a 7-0 lead. Late in the first Mo Lloyd scored from 11yds out to lead 13-0 after one.
Rochester would make it 13-6 early in the second before Lloyd Connected with Cole Winer on a 30yd scoring strike to make it 20-6 at the half.
The knock out punch would come in the third when Lloyd blew through multiple defenders, leaving a trail on a 21yd scoring run. Isaiah Sutton would follow, breaking loose for 56yds to put the Knights up 32-6. The Zebras would score before the quarter ended to make it 32-12 after three.
Lloyd would get the scoring going to start the fourth, taking it in from 3yds out. At 39-18 Lloyd would score one more time on a break away run from 64yds out.
