Harley Kruschwitz Nets Hat Trick
NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Manchester University men’s soccer team downed the Olivet College Comets by a final score of 4-1 for its second consecutive win on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Harley Kruschwitz (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester) scored his first career collegiate hat trick to lead the Black & Gold attack. Kruschwitz scored in the 3rd minute to put the Spartans ahead 1-0. He added goals in the 27th and 43rd minutes.
Manchester led 3-1 at the intermission.
Kruschwitz also had a role in the fourth Manchester goal of the afternoon as he assisted on Chris Gerken’s (Huntertown, Ind./Carroll) first collegiate goal in the 62nd minute.
Manchester outshot the Comets 19-7 on the afternoon. The Black & Gold also held a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks taken.
The win moved Manchester to 2-4-1 on the season. Olivet dropped to 1-4 with the loss.
The Black & Gold will return to action on Wednesday September 22 when they travel to nearby Huntington University. Wednesday’s match is scheduled to begin at 4 pm
