Manchester Wrestling Scares Peru
The Manchester Squires Wrestling team fell just short in a tense dual at Peru that came within one pin of delivering a victory for the road squad.
Peru built a 15-0 lead early, but Senior 132 Dylan Stroud got Manchester on the board with a dominant first period pin vs Semi-State qualifier Cooper Baldwin. After a loss at 138, Freshman Jose Cortes started a run of 4 straight Squires victories with a come from behind pin to fire up the team. Sophomore Isaiah Burlingame looking impressive earning a tech fall, and Senior Dominic Lincoln delivered his usual dual meet pin in style for the team. Junior Zach France gave the Squires a 29-19 lead with his first period pin, and Senior Trevor Dill got the Squires back on track with a pin after Peru pulled off a huge upset victory at 195. With Manchester leading 34-31, Peru was able to pin Squires Freshmen in the last 2 matches of the night to secure the final result.
