Manchester Wrestling 3rd At Caston
The Manchester wrestling team finished third at the Caston Super 6 Invite Saturday.
Manchester 33 North Miami 48
Manchester 60 Caston 24
Manchester 36 Tri-County 48
Manchester 46 Laville 33 (Laville wins Invite)
Manchester 54 North White 30
The Squires registered 3 individual champions on the day and defeated a Laville team that won the trophy for first place. Individually, Seniors Dylan Stroud and Dominic Lincoln, as well as Junior Zach France all remained undefeated on the season. Manchester showed improvement and wrestled hard on the day despite more key starters out of the lineup. The Squires lost a good dual with TRC rival North Miami, and bounced back to defeat the host Comets. Tri-County was able to win a few close matchups by collecting falls to hand the Squires an upset loss. After a player-led team meeting, Manchester responded with the best dual of the day defeating eventual champion Laville. Lincoln and France bumped up in weight to beat tough opponents, and Stroud and Freshman Jose Cortes got big pins to close out the dual. Manchester finished the day with a convincing win against North White that included a come from behind pin by senior Trevor Dill. Several young Squires demonstrated improvement and will look to build on the experience heading to a dual at Cass on Tuesday Night.
