The Manchester boys wrestling team was at Rochester while the girls were at Penn Saturday.

Dylan Stroud won the event for the 4th time in his career, and he collected the Outstanding Wrestler Award after a dominating 17-5 win over the 11th ranked kid in the State.

Overall the Squires had some bright spots and showed improvement at a tough individual tournament. Freshmen Jordan Owens and Juli Diaz both placed, with Owens picking up huge victories over opponents from Tippy and North Miami. Owens looked very good in his 3rd place showing as he was able to avenge a loss against an upperclassmen from Valley that he lost to in a dual last week. Junior Zach France made a nice run to the finals before losing a close match to his opponent from Hamilton Heights. Seniors Trevor Dill and Dominic Lincoln picked up some wins to get to the Semis, but ultimately collected 4th in their Final John Mckee Invite. Senior Dylan Stroud impressively won the event for the 4th straight time (and 2nd Outstanding Wrestler Award), and won 17-5 in the featured match vs 11th ranked Drake Montelongo. Dylan won a close 4-2 decision just last week, so it was important for Stroud to send a message with the two set to square off again in the TRC Championships in January.
The Squires will return to action with a dual at Eastern on January 5th.
