Gahl Headed To State Finals

Northfield Lady Norsemen competed in the Indiana High School Girl’s Wrestling (IHSGW) Regional North 2022 Friday at Maconaquah High School.

Northfield took three ladies to the tournament Junior Asia Miller, Sophomore Alexis Gates, and Freshmen Ella Gahl placing 20th out of 78 teams.

Ella Gahl competed in the stacked 120lbs weight class with 24 girls in two brackets. Ella went 4-1, placing 1st in her bracket and 2nd overall, and advanced to the state finals! Asia went 1-2 on the day, and Alexis went 0-2; both did not advance onto the state finals.

Overall Champion:
1st Place Match – Rose Kaplan (West Lafayette) won by decision over Ella Gahl (Northfield) Dec 2-0

Ella will compete next Friday at Kokomo Memorial Gymnasium. Wrestling starts at noon.
