Manchester Swimmers Compete At Oak Hill Invite

The Manchester swim teams took part in the Oak Hill Invite Saturday.

With just four swimmers, the Manchester boys placed 4th out of 7 teams.

The 200 medley relay team of Liam York, Jonathan Eberly, Cale Bennett, and Caden Marcum finished 4th with a season best time. Bennett and Marcum finished 8th and 9th respectively in the 200 freestyle, while York touched the wall 4th in the 50 freestyle. Eberly’s season best in the 100 butterfly put him 2nd in the 100 butterly followed by Bennett in 6th. York and Eberly swam great races to finish 2nd and 3rd in the 100 breaststroke and them teamed back up with Bennett and Marcum to finish 4th in the 400 freestyle relay.

The Manchester girls swim team finished a strong 3rd at the 8 team Oak Hill Invitational.

The 200 medley relay team of Noelle Walt, Hannah Eberly, Josie Briner, and Gracie Dale finished 2nd to open the meet. Evyn Fox and Kaesyn Lester continued the strong start by finishing 6th and 9th respectively in the 200 freestyle. Josie Briner used a strong freestyle leg to overtake an Oak Hill swimmer to capture 1st place in the 200 IM and then finished 2nd in the 100 butterfly in a race decided by 1/100th of a second. Eberly lowered her season best in the 50 freestyle to finished 5th. Eberly, Dale, Nele Bichler, and Briner swam a season best to take 4th in the 200 freestyle relay, and Noelle Walt and Miriam Struble-Hedstrom finished 8th and 9th respectively in the 100 backstroke. Eberly and Bichler wrapped up a solid meet with 7th and 9th place finishes in the 100 breaststroke while the 400 freestyle relay team of Fox, Adia Selleck, Struble-Hedstrom, and Kaesyn Lester capped off the meet with a 8th place finish.
