Norse 4th/Squires 5th At Whitko Golf Invite
The Northfield and Manchester boys golf teams played in the Whitko Invite Saturday.
Northfield Varsity Golf capped off the weekend by placing 4th at the Whitko Invitational. The Norse scored 349 as a team in their first 18 hole match on the season. Tyson Baer led the way with a 74(+2) and finished 4th overall individually out of a field of 45 players. Easton Shaw finished the day with a solid 85 and Tristan Hoffman in with a 93. All three had atleast 1 birdie on the day. Dylan Ross would complete the 349 by adding his 97 and Eric Tracy with 103. Northridge went on to take 1st place with a score of 316 followed by Fairfield and Triton. Northfield had to battle for 4th, edging conference foes Tipp Valley and Manchester by only 2 strokes.
The Manchester Squires Boys Golf team finished 5th place on a hot and windy Saturday at Sycamore Golf Club in North Manchester, IN. With a team score of 350, they improved by 6 strokes from last weekend, narrowly beating Tippecanoe and losing by only a stroke to Northfield.
Leading the Squires was Owen Kruschwitz who tied for 4th overall with a 2-over 74. After a shaky start playing the first 4 holes 5 over par, Owen battled back and played the next 12 holes 4 under to get back into the mix. Next for the Squires were a pair of 90s from Brady Wiley and Connor Trump, followed by a pair of 96s from Jackson Felgar and Conner Lauer.
