Lady Apache Soccer Kicks Off Season


The Wabash Lady Apaches got the season started off to a great start at the Eastbrook Jamboree hosted at IWU Saturday.

Wabash was able to compete against two strong programs in the jamboree, Mississinewa and Oak Hill. Wabash put 16 shots on goal in the combined 60 minutes of play and junior Kiana Jones put a beautiful crash goal to the back of the net. Shots on goal lead by senior Rylee Yoakum with junior Natalie Adams, Junior Irma Robles, Junior Madi VonUhl and freshman Logan Wright also contributing offensively. Sophomore Kait Honeycutt provided great minutes for the Apaches both in midfield and defensively. Senior Abbie Boggs, senior Libby Mattern and freshman Jaycee Jones played strong defensive minutes for the Apaches. Wabash allowed 4 goals in the Jamboree with Senior Hannah Layne playing fantastic for the Apaches with 11 goalkeeper saves.

Wabash begins their regular season this week at Taylor on Tuesday.
