Northfield JH Cross Country Wins 3-Way

The Northfield junior high cross country teams won a three way meet over Manchester and Wabash Wednesday.

The Lady Norse came out in dominant fashion taking 5 of the top 10 places. Leading the way was Laney Haupert and Kaleigh Rice. Haupert took 1st place by 3 tenths of a second over Rice. Teagan Baer, 5th, Ali Copeland, 7th, Adalynn Hawkins, 10th, Olia Leffert, 12th, and Amarah Frieden, 14th, rounded out the scoring for the Lady Norse. Running very well and in their very first races for the Norse was Haylee Bucher, Trinity Sutterby, Isabella See and Sheila Smith.

The Northfield boys finished 1st in an incredibly close race against Wabash. Winning by 1 point. Bode Sorg led the way in a personal best of 11:53 finishing 3rd. Eli Gahl, 5th, and Wyatt Bucher, 6th, also posted personal best times. Kourtland Pratt, 7th, Hudson Haupert, 8th, Holten Satterthwaite, 9th, Nate Hodson, 10th. Running strong for the Norse was Preston Moore, Ethan Hoover, Gavin Lester, Landon McLaughlin and Bentley Sutterby.

While Manchester did not field a complete team, the 3 boys who ran represented Manchester well. Oliver Fitzpatrick led the way in a 5th place finish.
