Lady Apaches Soccer Cruises Past Peru
The Wabash Lady Apaches came away with a big TRC win tonight against Peru with a score of 7-1.
The Apache first goal was great central service from sophomore Kait Honeycutt, up to Junior Natalie Adams then serviced to senior Rylee Yoakum for a goal to the back of the net. Next goal was a full offensive crash on goal with junior Irma Robles finishing for her first goal of the season. Following was a fantastic cross from sophomore Abby Hipskind leading to another Yoakum finish. Wabash did have a defensive lasp which resulted in an own goal to put the score to 3-1 in the first half.
Wabash was able come out of halftime and continue to maintain the offensive pressure on the Lady Tigers and put 4 more goals away. Honeycutt and Junior Kiana Jones continued to service to the forwards, with K. Jones putting a goal away herself with a beautiful crash goal powered to the back of the net. Yoakum put 3 more goals away with help from K. Jones and sophomore Emma Weaver. Senior goalkeeper Hannah Layne had 4 saves on the night. The Lady Apaches are now 3-0 on the season and 3-0 in the TRC. Their next game is Saturday at 10am at Alumni Field against Mississinewa.
