Norse/Knights Run At Norse Invite

The Northfield and Southwood cross country teams ran in the Northfield Invite Saturday.

The JH Lady Norse ran away with their own invitational title on Saturday. Leading the way was Laney Haupert, 1st, Kaleigh Rice, 2nd, Ali Copeland, 11th, Teagan Baer, 13th, Amarah Frieden, 18th, Adalynn Hawkens, 19th and Olia Leffert, 21st. Also turning in great performances was Haylee Bucher, Sheila Smith and Izzy See.

Southwood middle school girls’ cross country team finished in second place.

Finishing in fifth place, and setting a season personal best (13:02), was Shelby Thomas. Paige Nelson came in sixth with a time of 13:18. Ava Stouffer also ran a season best time of 14:28, coming in twelfth. Olivia Ranck placed fifteenth, with a season best time of 14:52. Finishing in fifty-sixth place, Karson Ward ran a season best time of 23:26.

The Northfield Junior High Boys finished 2nd at their own invitational this past Saturday by the slimmest of margins; losing to Rossville by 1 point. Leading the way for the Norse was Bode Sorg, 2nd, Wyatt Bucher, 3rd, Eli Gahl, 6th, Kourtland Pratt, 9th, Preston Moore, 23rd, Holten Satterthwaite, 24th, and Hudson Haupert, 26th. Also running for the Norse was Ethan Hoover, Nate Hodson, Landon McLaughlin and running season best times Gavin Lester and Bentley Sutterby.

For Southwood Zander Chellis finished in fifteenth place with an overall personal best time of 13:01. Andrew Wright also earned an overall personal best time of 13:22, coming in nineteenth. Luc Neal came in forty-eighth place, and ran a season best time of 15:33.

The Lady Norse cross country team placed 5th over all at the home Norse Invite. 3 of 5 Lady Norse shortened their seasons best times Saturday- Ella Gahl, Trinity Bever and Mara Zolman. Congrats Ladies!

Finishing first for the team at Saturdays meet was Ella Gahl finishing in 23:17 for 7th place. Following Ella to the finish line was Madeline Moore in 24:05, Trinity Bever in 24:13, Mara Zolman in 25:40 and Asia Miller in 29:12.

Jaiya Corn represented the Southwood Lady Knight Harriers in the Northfield Invite on Saturday. Jaiya finished 20th in a field of 47, setting a new PR of 25:16.

Northfield boys finished 5th at the home Norse Invite Saturday. Finishing with 7 seasons best times- Ryan Brunett, Tayten Barlow, Ty Leming, Karson Pratt, Jaden Baer, Ryland Miller and Kamdon Carpenter. Congrats boys!

Finsihing first for the Norse was Ryan Brunett in a seasons best time of 20:00. Following Ryan was Tayten Barlow in 20:02, Ty Leming in 20:06, Karson Pratt in 21:11, Jaden Baer in 21:27, Ryland Miller in 21:34, Kamdon Carpenter in 21:51, Aston Aderman in 23:40 and Xavier Roark in 24:32.

Finishing first for the Knights was Casey Boardman with a 10th place finish overall. Right on Boardman’s heels was Luke Andrews finishing 11th overall in a field of 60 runners. In the second meet of the season, Andrews once again set a new PR, covering the distance in a time of 19:37.2.

Also competing for the Knights was Landon Mitchell finishing 28th and Devin Danzy finishing 49th.
