Manchester V/JV Volleyball Invite Results

The Manchester varsity volleyball team played in the Eastbrook Invite Saturday, while the junior varsity was at the Southwood Super Six tournament

After losing the 1st set, the Varsity Squires came back to defeat Eastern 19-25, 25-11, 15-8. Olivia Neal had an exceptional hitting game totaling 7 kills on 13 swings with no errors. Aliala Atienza had 4 aces. Paxton Baker, Marley Bellinger, and Peyton Ream all had double digit digs.

The Varsity Volleyball team won their second match of the day against Taylor High School. The Squires won in straight sets 25-6, 25-16. Olivia Davis led the Squires with 5 kills. Aliala Atienza totaled 5 aces. Hadley West picked up 7 assists, while Paxton Baker had 10 digs.

After winning their first two matches of the day, the Squires couldn’t keep the moment going, losing to the host Eastbrook Panthers 19-25, 26-28.

Olivia Davis had an excellent hitting game with 7 kills and just 1 error. Paxton Baker (21), Aliala Atienza (12), and Hadley West (11) all had double digit digs.

The Varsity Squires finished their day with a 2 set win against conference foe North Miami 25-19, 25-22. The Squires had lost their previous matchup with the Warriors earlier in the season.

McKelvey Espeset led the Squires with 6 kills, followed by Myla Crozier with 5 and Gracie Lauer with 4. Peyton Ream had 9 assists.

The Squires have won 4 of their last 5 matches. They play again at home on Thursday for a conference matchup against Maconaquah.

Lady Squires beats Southwood in the first game of the line up on Saturday at the Southwood Super Six Invitational, 2 -1.
