The host Rochester Lady Zebras blanked the Tippecanoe Valley Lady Vikings at Rochester 5-0 in TRC action on Monday.

It was senior night for Rochester who celebrated 7 young ladies at the half.

Jetta Hughes returned to the Valley line up in goal after being sidelened for 3 weeks with a knee injury and allowed 5 goals with 12 saves.

Valley could only find 2 shots the entire match, neither that threatened the clean slate for Rochester

Valley lost to RHS last year 15-1 so hats off to the Lady Vikings for improving from that previous TRC match-up.

Valley drops to 2-8-1, 1-3 in the TRC

TRC opponent Maconaquah used precision on the penalty kick shootout and beat the Lady Vikings 3-1 (6-4 final score), spoiling senior night for the Valley girls on Tuesday night.

Down 1-0 at half, Valley came back to tie Maconaquah, then both teams exchanged goals to end up the half with a 3 to 3 tie at the end of regulation.

With the sun setting, the required two 5-minute period overtimes saw neither team gain an advantage and the score remained 3-3 into the shootout.

Valley came up short when only freshman Lindsay Peterson was able to find the back of the net on her attempt from the spot. Three other Valley kickers placed the ball into the keepers hands on their attempts. Maconaquah hit 3 of their first four which forced Valley to make its last two but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.

Valley had scores from Emma Craig, Macy Peterson, Estella Ward, and the OT PK from Lindsay Peterson. Senior Jessica Brito was credited with 3 assists.

Jetta Hughes went the distance in the net with 11 saves against 8 shots on goal (excluding the OT PKs).

Valley falls to 2-9-1, 1-5-1 in TRC.

This represented the last home match for senior captains Jessica Brito, Makena Smith, Lydia Miller (unable to play due to surgery), and Noelia Ruiz-Quintana (not present due to family death).
