The Eagles were defeated late last night in the Sectional Finals in a shoot out by Northwestern. The game was scoreless through regular time and the first 7 minutes of overtime. Northwestern scored in the 2nd overtime period and with 30 seconds left Matthew Strange answered scoring the Eagles goal. Overtime ended with the teams tied 1-1 which forced the two teams into a shoot out. Northwestern defeated the Eagles scoring 3 penalty kicks. Grant Elzinga and Bryce Gibson both scored their penalty kicks in the shoot out. Collin Kreitzer played an absolutely phenomenal game in goal, along with our defensive line. It was a team effort to play the game hard, tie it up and force penalty kicks. Every Eagle played a part and it showed our determination.
