Results from junior high football for Tuesday, October 11th

The Squires lose a hard fought battle 13-8 against Peru. Leading the Squires was Ryder Foust. Foust rushed for 10 yards on 1 carry. And threw for a season high 116 yards. He was 5 of 8 with a touchdown. Cody Carroll was on the receiving end of 102 yards of those yards. Carroll caught a 45 yard touchdown pass from Foust.

The defense was lead by Jace Garber with 8 tackles and causing a fumble. 2 of those tackles were for a loss. Cody Carroll 9 tackles. Resto D’Andrea caused a fumble and had 6 tackles 3 for a loss. Layne Showalter also had a fumble recovery and 6 tackles.

Wabash 7th beat Whitko to finish out the season. Wabash made a lot of mistakes and allowed Whitko to take the early lead. Gabe Lepage threw a short pass to Quinnlynn Campbell who took it 80 yards for a touchdown. The defense was led by Harrison Mills and Liam McCann. Mackey Sorg forced a last second safety to give the Apaches the 8-6 lead. Carson Amburgey closed out the game with an onside kick recovery. The Apaches finished the season 7-1 and in 2nd place in the RRC conference.

The 8th grade football team wrapped up the season with a 22-12 win over Whitko. The Apaches offense was kickstarted by Harry Mills (7th grader). Harry also scored the following 2 point conversion. Jarrett McWhirt scored the second touchdown for the Apaches. Harry scored the accompanying 2 point conversion. Haiden McWhirt had a very long rushing touchdown in the 3rd quarter. The Apaches played a very sound defensive game after the first 2 drives.
