The Oak Hill football team fell to Guerin Catholic 24-21 Friday

The offense totaled 313 yards tonight. 234 yards came on the ground while Levi Trexler totaled 79 yards through the air on 7-11 passes. Thomas Nally caught 2 of those passes for 54 yards. Lucas Hasty caught 2 passes for 15 yards, Avery Mills caught 2 passes for 5 yards, and Ty Fagan caught 1 pass for 5 yards.

Kyle Turanchick lead the rushing attack with 23 rushes for 169 yards and 1 touchdown. Avery Mills rushed 6 times for 34 yards and a touchdown. Trexler also ran for a score while rushing for 33 yards on 3 attempts.

Grant Elzinga made all 3 extra point attempts on the night.

The OHXC Golden Eagles competed in their 7th straight IHSAA Semi State Saturday at IWU. The Men’s “team” season came to an end as they finished 15th as a team totaling 330 points. Top 10 ranked Fishers won the championship with 79 points. It was the 4th time the last 5 years that the Men finished in the Top 15.

Golden Eagle Junior Owen Jackson led the way with a 10th place overall finish in a season best 16:03. Jackson finished as the 6th individual which earned him his 2nd trip to the IHSAA State Finals next Saturday in Terre Haute. In doing so Jackson became just the 4th Golden Eagle athlete to advance to the State Finals individually multiple times. Westview Freshman Noah Bontrager won the race individually in 15:20.

Jackson’s classmates Trenton Sweet and Toby Sneed wrapped up very successful breakout seasons in 56th and 96th respectively. Sweet was the county, conference, Sectional, and Regional Runner Up to Jackson.

Freshmen Corban Tippey 131st and Brayden Sommers 154th rounded out the Top 5 Varsity scorers. Sophomore Own Roth finished 173rd and Junior AJ Austin took 179th.

The Golden Eagles wrapped up a season that saw another County Championship, Central Indiana Conference Championship, and trip to the Semi State.

Jackson will run at LaVern Gibson the Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute next Saturday October 29th in the IHSAA State Finals.
