Lady Squires Grab Come Back Win At Winamac

The Manchester Lady Squires out scored Winamc 23-16 in the second half to erase a 4 point deficit at the half and defeat the Warriors 42-39 Saturday.

The Lady Warriors came out with the hot hand tonight as they knocked down 19 points in the first quarter. The second quarter held a different story as the Squires chipped away at the lead with strong defense going into halftime down 23-19.

The Lady Squires continuted with tough defensive pressure and held the Warriors to 16 points in the second half. With a two point lead in the last minute, Molly Schannep knocked down her free throw with 7 seconds left to give the Squires a 3 point edge. One last tough defesive possesion sealed the 42-39 victory.

Brookelynn Buzzard led the Squires tonight with 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Molly Schannep added 6 points and 4 rebounds. Hadley West had 4 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Maddy Miller added 5 points while Gracie Lauer added 4. Aliala Atienza and Kim Schroll both had 2 points. Olivia Neal pulled down 4 rebounds and was a strong presence defensively inside.
