Lady Apaches Fall At Pioneer

The Wabash Lady Apaches fell to Pioneer 70-60 Tuesday.

The Lady Apaches jumped out to an early lead and were up as much as 12 points in the second quarter before turnover and foul trouble let Pioneer grab a 6 point lead at the half. Wabash battled in the second half and got within 3 but could not overcome the poor second quarter as the fell to 2A #6 ranked Pioneer 70-60.

Wabash, now 3-2, was led by Kait Honeycutt and Libby Mattern with 15 points each while Rylee Yoakum added 12. Kierra Wilson & Jade Stumbo led the Lady Apaches on the boards with 8 and 7 rebounds.

Wabash will be back on the court Friday as they face Madison-Grant at Coolman Gymnasium.

The JV Lady Apaches won a defensive battle at Pioneer to move to 3-1 on the season. Kiana Jones scored 7 points to lead Wabash. The Lady Apaches will be back in action on Friday at home against Madison-Grant.
