Manchester Girls/Boys Split At Oak Hill

The Manchester girls and boys basketball teams traveled to Oak Hill Saturday. The girls defeated Oak Hill while the boys fell to the Eagles.

The Lady Squires started off with a scoring drought and went into the locker room at halftime with a 15-8 deficit. Their defense brought the energy second half as the Squires came up with 17 steals for the game.

Maddy Miller led defensively with 7 steals, also adding 13 points and 5 rebsounds. Brookelynn Buzzard led the Squires offensively with 20 points and 2 assists. Hadley West came up with 8 points and 4 rebounds. Aliala Atienza had an all-around great game with 4 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals. Grace Smith added 2 points and Molly Schannep had 1 point and 3 rebounds. Peyton Ream had great defensive minutes and picked up 4 steals. Kim Schroll and Olivia Neal both had good presence on the inside with 5 rebounds

Outscoring the Lady Eagles by 19 points in the second half, the Squires finished with the 48-36 victory.

The squires were up 28-27 going into halftime but struggled with turnovers in the second half and lost to a good Oak Hill team 68-42.
