Second Half Comeback Lifts Lady Squires Past Northfield
The Manchester Lady Squires trailed Northfield 31-15 at the half before coming back to defeat the Lady Norse 51-48 Saturday.
The Squires came out and played as a team offensively and defensively during the second half clawing back in with a 22-7 third quarter. Down the stretch, it was a close game, but the Lady Squires hit some big shots to keep the lead and seal the win.
Brookelynn Buzzard had a career high 28 points along with 4 steals. Molly Schannep had 7 points and 5 rebounds. Gracie Lauer had a huge night in the paint with 16 rebounds, 5 points, and 2 steals. Olivia Neal also battled hard bringing down 9 rebounds, 5 points, and 3 steals. Peyton Ream added 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. Hadley West led in assists with 4. Aliala Atienza played strong defense getting 2 steals and 1 rebound. Maddy Miller added 2 points, 3 assists, and 1 rebound off the bench.
Hannah Holmes led Northfield with 19 points and 22 rebounds. Elli Baker and Camryn Kuhn added 10 points a piece. Callie Hoffman had 9 points.
