Lady Apaches Win At Oak Hill

The Wabash Lady Apaches survived a slow start , down 9-8 after a quarter, to pull out a 45-31 win on the road at Oak Hill Tuesday.

Wabash dominated the middle two quarters 31-10 to build a twenty point lead after 3 quarters of play as they turned up the defensive pressure and thier intensity on both ends.

The Lady Apaches, now 6-5 on the season, were led by Kierra Wilson and Hannah Layne with 11 points each while Libby Mattern added 8. Wilson pulled down 8 rebounds to lead the squad while Mattern and Rylee Yoakum added 6 each. Kait Honeycutt dished out 6 assists and Yoakum grabbed 7 steals to pace Wabash.

The Lady Apaches will be back in action on Saturday at home when they take on Northfield in a TRC clash.

The JV Lady Apaches jumped out to an early lead but couldn’t hold on as they fell 36-27 at Oak Hill.

Wabash, now 5-5 on the season, was led by Janika Stumbo with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Bryleigh Boggs and Sammie Walter added 4 points each while Walter also pulled down 6 boards. Kiana Jones had 2 assists and 3 steals to lead the Lady Apaches.

Wabash will be back at home on Saturday as they face Cowan at 6:00.
