We secured the win tonight with some much needed free throw shooting in the final stretch once again. We are glad Jude Callane and Brody Kubly have been able to assist us in this capacity multiple times this season. We didn’t have our most complete game by any means but we are getting better and learning more about our team and how to work together to come out as victors. Tonight we had more assists and by multiple people than what we have had in past games which is a huge plus. We had troubles at times or more in spurts with turnovers, blocking out, and layups tonight for some reason but we found a way to come together as a team and rely on one another to pull out the victory. We now move to 5-2 on the season and 3-0 in conference play. We have two more games this week- one away verse Logansport on Wednesday and another home conference game on Thursday verse Rochester.

The “B” team lost to Western 22-12. Chase Million and Grayson Caldwell each hit a 3 to score 3 points apiece. Peyton White, Blake Brakensiek and Diego Soto each scored 2 points.

The “B” team falls to 3-4 on the season.

Both teams will be back in action on Wednesday at Logansport-Columbia. The “A” team will play at 5:30pm with the “B” team to follow.

I was able to mix up the line up tonight. I wanted to see where some guys were in different events and some events they had never done before. Quinn Richard dropped 7sec in the 500 free. Isaac Lorenz swam fly in the medley relay,-.5sec, and swam the 200 IM for the first time. Jarrod Nead had a great night. He dropped 3.5 in the IM, swam the 100 Fly for the first time, and dropped 1.8sec in the 100 Free. Luke Abbott had an awesome come from behind 4th place finish in the 100 Breaststroke dropping 1.2 sec. Garrett McManus changed from the normal distance events(200 and 500 Free) to the sprint events. He dropped 2.2 sec in the 50 free and 1.8 sec in the 100 Free. Cole Nye improved 1.5 sec in the 100 Fly. Jonathan O’Connor continues to get healthy and improve. He dropped 4.5 in the 50 Fly and 1 sec in 50 Free. Ryley Rodkey .1 in 200 Free, .14 in 50 free leg of relay, and 1.3 sec in 100 Breast. Victor Riker over came a fear by swimming the 500 Free for the first time. Aiden Williams improved his dive score by 49 points in his second meet ever. Drake Samuel swim th 200 Free for the 1st time, dropped another 5.5 sec in the 500 Free, and 3.7 sec in his 100 Free leg of relay. The Golden Goggle Award goes to Brady Dausch. Brady is new to the team this season. He is a great kid and athlete. He has improved his dive score by 60 points from 1st meet. I see so much potential in his diving ability. He also had a best 50 free leg of the Medley relay. Now it is time to get to work over the next 3 weeks as we prepare for the second half of season and our conference meet.

The Golden Goggle went to Laci Winegardner. Laci works hard in practice and was able to shave over four seconds off her 100 butterfly time. I am very proud of her and can’t wait to see what she and the other team will be able to do as the season continues.
