Northfield Wrestling Wins At Caston

The Northfield wrestling team closed out the 2022 duel meet schedule by wrestling at Caston High School Thursday.

Due to illness and injury, several starters were not in the lineup. However, the remaining team answered the call, dominating Caston 57-12.

Senior Malichi Higgins started the action by pinning his opponent in 27 seconds. Freshmen Jace Phillips kept pace by scoring his first varsity pin in 56 seconds. Freshmen Issac Stakeman won by pin in 26 seconds. Sophomore Trevor Shake celebrated his 16th birthday by pinning his opponent in 44 seconds. Lastly, Senior John Clark won by decision.

The Northfield Lady’s Wrestling Team competes this Saturday at the Lafeyette Jefferson Girl’s Wrestling Invitational. Wrestling starts at 9:00 am.
