Lady Apaches Hold Off Norse

The Wabash Lady Apaches pulled out a 60-52 win over Northfield on Saturday night.

Wabash, now 7-5,1-2, was forced to turn to thier delay game with 5 minutes to go after losing the two starters to fouls. The Lady Apaches took care of the ball and knocked down just enough free-throws as they milked the clock and pulled out the win.

Wabash was led by quartet of double figure scores: Kait Honeycutt 21, Libby Mattern 16, Kierra Wilson 11 and Rylee Yoakum 11. Wilson also pulled down 6 rebounds and grabbed 6 steals while Yoakum dished out 6 assists to lead the Lady Apaches.

Wabash will be back in action on Tuesday when they host another county rival, Southwood, at Coolman Gymnasium.

Hannah Holmes led the Northfield with 22 points and 19 rebounds. Camryn Kuhn had 14 points. Elli Baker added 8 points, Jaycie Krom added 6 points, and Callie Hoffman added 2 points.

The JV Lady Apaches had 9 people score as they moved to 6-5 on the season with a 48-12 win over Cowan. Wabash jumped out to a 8-0 lead after 1 quarter and never looked back as they continued to build the lead.

Bryleigh Boggs scored 16 points to lead the Lady Apache attack while Bella Vail added 7. Vail also pulled down 6 rebounds and Janika Stumbo had 6 steals to pace Wabash.
