The Wabash Lady Apaches, coming off of the County Tourney Championship, got off to a rough start at home against Maconaquah Saturday.

Down 11-5 in the first Wabash scored to end the opening quarter and then won the middle quarters 32-21 to grab a 39-32 lead heading to the final period. The Lady Apaches missed some free-throws down the stretch that let Maconaquah stay close but a bucket as time ran out got the Lady Braves as close as they would get as Wabash pulled out the 44-41 win.

The Lady Apaches won for the sixth time in a row to move to 11-5, 3-2 on the season. Scoring for Wabash: Kait Honeycutt 14, Libby Mattern 7, Rylee Yoakum 7, Hannah Layne 6, Kierra Wilson 6, Jade Stumbo 2, and Bella Vail 2.

Wabash will be back in action on Wednesday when they host 2A #9 Eastbrook in Coolman Gymnasium.
