The girls team won by 14.5 points. That is the difference of only 1 extra swimmer or diver placing 10th in 1 event. 14.5 points would have been a close dual meet let alone a huge invite consisting of 18 teams.
Our dive squad, consisting of Abby Sneed, Cora Saylor, Lauren Bisdorf, and Wrigley Boswell set the stage Friday night for Oak Hill to win this invite. With our biggest competitors without divers, Friday night accelerated us to the lead!
This is the girls 2nd year in a row winning the Jay County Invite!

On paper, with the seed times, we were predicted to lose by 24 points. The girls team knew that going in and knew that this weekend was going to be a challenge. Things definitely went our way in a couple events but going into this meet with the right mind set carried this team to victory.

January 6th, sophomore diver Grant Cates competed 11 dives at the Jay County Invite and surpassed Caiden Lakes 11 dive record by nearly 25 points! In 2018 Caiden Lake, Coached by Bobby Hart, won the state title in dive; mind you, in a sport with no class.
Last year, Cates competed at the state competition held at IUPUI. As a Freshman, he finished 5th. Cates this year has his sights on the title, however, there is at least 1 known competitor that could keep him from this tremendous goal and achievement! Cates has turned to international competition this summer and has been on the grind to improve his skills on the board and to give himself the opportunity and chance to win State this year and the 2 more years after this. As you can imagine, Cates goals do not stop there as the Olympic Trials are on the radar for this young athlete!
Cates, who was once coached by Bobby Hart as well, is now coached by one of Bobby’s divers and state qualifyer Chris Simmons (2011 Graduate from Oak Hill).
A Tradition of Excellence is not only found in the water but on the board as well here at Oak Hill and we look forward to seeing what these two are capable of!

On a night when past legends of Oak Hill were honored, the Golden Eagles came out scorching hot to put on a show for those in attendance against the Comets two-three zone and hit a flurry of shots led by Landon Biegel! Biegel hit 4 threes int quarter one, 2 in quarter 2, 2, in quarter 3, and then gave way to the reserves in the 4th quarter. Before his night was over, though, Biegel excited the crowd with a couple of thunderous dunks to go along with his shooting! His teammates followed suit with Matthew Strange hitting a pair of threes, as well as one from Colin Middlesworth, Caleb Kroll, and Trenton Sweet. Leading 48-17 at the half, the Golden Eagles got the lead past 35 to a running clock early in the third quarter. That improves the record to an impressive 10-1! Scoring ended up like this for the Eagles: Biegel with 38, Kroll with 11, Strange with 10, Middlesworth with 7, Fagan with 4, Sweet with 3, and lamb with 2. The Eagles will travel to Southwood Tuesday to try and keep things rolling!
