The Manchester swim teams fell to Bluffton Thursday.

The girls fell to Bluffton 87-81

Josie Briner was a quadruple winner and Rachel Garcia and Hannah Eberly were each were triple winners, but Manchester came up just short on Thursday night in Bluffton. The Squires opened the meet strong with the team of Miriam Struble-Hedstrom, Eberly, Briner, and Sophie Anglin taking first in the 200 medley relay. Briner, Garcia, and Eberly continued the strong start with victories in the 200 freestyle, 200 IM, and 50 freestyle respectively. After the diving break, Briner continued with a victory in the 100 butterfly. Bluffton’s victories in the 100 freestyle, 500 freestyle, and 200 freestyle relay along with their overall depth powered them into a 12 point lead going into the final three events. Garcia took first in the 100 backstroke and Eberly won the 100 breaststroke, but the Squires were still behind by 10 points going into the final relay due to Bluffton’s overall depth. The team of Elena Lawrence, Anglin, Briner, and Garcia came from behind to take the 400 freestyle relay, but it wasn’t enough as the Squires came up 6 points short. The Squires will wrap up a busy week on Saturday at the Oak Hill Invitational.

Caden Marcum chipped in with a third place finish in the 50 freestyle. Manchester will wrap up a busy week on Saturday at the Oak Hill Invitational.
