Squires Jump On Apaches Early

The Manchester boys basketball team improved to 10-2 (3-0 conf.) with a conference win over Wabash 71-60 Friday.

The Squires jumped out to an early lead and didn’t look back. The Squires led at half 34-22. In the third quarter Manchester came out hot and built their lead to 21 and maintained the lead to win 71-60.

The Squires were led by Gavin Betten with 23 points and 16 rebounds. Ethan Hendrix scored 21 points, hit 3 threes on the night and added 4 steals. Tyler McLain played his best game of the season and contributed 17 points while hitting 4 threes and 4 steals. Gavin Martin hit some big shots and added 8 points. Tallon Torpy and Carter Wagoner also scored 2 points.

Grant Ford led Wabash with 21 points. Trevor Daughtry added 7, Kaden Vogel 2, Kolton Wilson 15, Dave Ford 2, Collin Price 2, Izaak Wright 11.

Wabash won the junior varsity contest 49-33.

The Apaches were led by Alex Dinkins with 18 Points. Ty Carpenter added 2, Logan Cantrell 9, Brayten Eis 6 and Eli Mattern 14.

Kaleb Kline led The Squires with 9 points. Sammie Lambert added 1, Carson Heath 4, Reiss Gaerte 7, Davin Hendrix 8 and Wyatt Prater 4.
