Maconaquah High School Boys Varsity Basketball beat Twin Lakes Senior High School 76-55
The Braves went on the road and came away with a good road win at Twin Lakes.
Coach Burrus Quote: “The Twin Lakes game was a good game after not playing our best at Valley. We forced 21 steals against a very guard driven Twin Lakes team. I thought Fuddy Kile played well. He had 6 steals and 12 points. He made some big plays at key times. Josiah Ball and Bauer Maple combined for 54 points. I felt a big key for us was getting back in the 4th quarter and making Twin Lakes see a set defense. After running against a full court defense it is hard to face five defenders who are active now only in the half court. Our guys did a good job of defending the basket but also keeping pressure on the ball. This also took time off the clock.
These last five games we really need to start building momentum for the sectional. We are in a very difficult sectional but we know we can compete. These kids have competed in every game. We feel that this group STILL has room to get better, before the sectional. Make sure you get out to see these guys play. What a fun group to watch, and coach. Also, the sectional will be at Peru. That will be nice as far as travel and giving us a local flavor. Homecoming is Friday vs Southwood. We’ll see you Friday.”
