Three Manchester Swimmers Advance

The Manchester boys swim team is peaking at the right time of the year and advanced 3 swimmers to the Saturdays sectional finals at Warsaw.

Liam York advanced to the championship final in two events. In a very competitive 50 freestyle, York lowered his lifetime best by nearly a half second to qualify for the A final with the 7th fasted prelim swim at 22.59. In the 100 backstroke he knocked nearly two seconds off his lifetime best to qualify 3rd in 57.99.

Cale Bennett lowered his lifetime best in the 100 butterly by over 4 seconds to advance to the consolation final with a time of 1:01.57. Ten minutes later he was back in the pool racing in the 500 freestyle, dropping nearly 10 seconds off his lifetime best, finishing in 5:39.21 to grab the final spot in the championship final.

Caden Marcum dropped nearly 4 seconds off of his lifetime best in the 100 freestyle to advance to the consolation final, finishing in 56.08. Additionally he knocked a second off of his lifetime best, swimming 25.95 in the 50 freestyle.

Kenneth Martin wrapped up his season finishing 33rd in the 50 freestyle with a time of 50.26.

The sectional finals will begin at 1PM on Saturday at Warwaw High School.
