Squires Fall To Caston

The Manchester baseball team lost a double header to Caston Saturday.

The Squires fell 5-4 in game one

The Squires dropped the game 5-4 despite out hitting the Comets 9 hits to 3. The home team ran wild on the bases while accumulating 12 stolen bases during the game. However, the Squires could not capitalize on the traffic that they generated on the on the bases as they left 10 stranded. Garrett Sites led the team at the plate by going 3-4. Evan Martynowicz tossed 6 innings while allowing only one earned run, 3 hits, and 8 strikeouts.

Ethan Hendrix 1-3 with 2 stolen bases

Evan Estep 1-3

Reiss Gaerte 1-3 with 3 stolen bases

Evan Martynowicz 1-3

Gavin Martin 1-3 with two stolen bases

Gavin Martin and Garrett Sites made their season debuts on the mound in game two. Gavin Martin tossed 4 2/3 innings with 0 earned runs and 5 strikeouts. Garrett Sites came in relief and threw 2 1/3 innings while striking out two.
