Varsity Softball beats Lewis Cass Jr/Sr HS 5 – 3

Oak Hill defeated Lewis Cass at Cass on Monday night. It was a good win versus a quality opponent in the Lady Kings.

Karsyn Wiley got the start in the circle and pitched the entire game, while Oak Hill gave up three runs all of which were unearned due to an error in that 6th inning.

Other than the two errors Oak Hill played great defense, communicating well and moving to the ball and in backup positions all game long. Madison Archer and Bella Foustnight secured eight of the outs by running down balls in the outfield. Bella, after a running catch, began a 9-4-3 double play picking a runner off who left two early from first. Lex Myers gunned down two base stealers in the game, the final one being a leadoff walk in the top of the 7th. Her arm took runs off the board in this game.

Offensively, Oak Hill gathered 13 hits along with some walks. Several players got two hits in the game (Lex Myers, Karsyn Wiley, Madison Archer, and Tay Holloway). Everybody else in the lineup got at least one hit (Evie Holz, Liz Godfrey, Alivia ShawMaxy Pitman, and Mya Rennaker). Tay Holloway came up with the big clutch hit in the top of the 7th to give Oak Hill that extra run of insurance.
