Girls Varsity Soccer Opens Season with OT Win over Conference Rival Eastbrook

The Oak Hill Girls Varisty soccer team faced a tough and talented Eastbrook team tonight. After ending regulation tied at 0, the teams went into 2 seven minute overtimes. In the first seven minutes of overtime Landri Hardman scored, putting the Eagles ahead one. Liz Godfrey had 8 saves in the shut out victory. Cadence Pearce, Evelin Perez, Cail Bowlin, Audrey Rex, and Lydia Ancil played a crucial role in the team’s win, and aided in the shutout.

The Eagles are now 1-0 in conference play.

Tomororw the team travels to Kokomo. Game time is 6pm.

Varsity Volleyball beats Maconaquah 3 – 0

Great first win for the varsity girls! Amaya Thompson led the team with 17 digs, Bella Taylor led the team with 9 kills, Braeleigh Evans with 3 aces and Isabelle Dominisse with 3 blocks. Despite being down at time, the varsity team powered through with a quick 3-0 win against Maconaquah.

Eagles start their season off with a win at home beating Tipton 3-0

The Eagles made their presence known in the season opener tonight. Emmett Dorothy scored the first goal unassisted. Bryce Gibson then had the second goal of the game scoring off a penalty kick. Finishing out the first half and securing the win from that point on was Trevor Baker scoring the third goal, assisted by Noah Thompson. Great start to the season from the Varsity Eagles!

Girls Varsity Golf falls to Maconaquah 180 – 223

The Oak Hill Lady Eagles played the Maconaquah Braves tonight at Arbor Trace. The Eagles were led by Isabel Snyder’s 52. The aeagles are back in action tomorrow Vs Whitko at Arbor Trace.

The cross country team hosted Manchester and Southwood Tuesday.

OHXC Lady Eagles Earn a Split to Open 2023 Season – Travis Takes 3rd

The OHXC Lady Eagles opened their 2023 season with a close triangular meet split with visiting Manchester and Southwood. The Lady Eagles shutout Southwood but lost to a strong Manchester squad by just 2 points 27-29. Manchester is Ranked 5th in the State for Small Schools while the Lady Eagles came in ranked 7th.

Sophomore Biruk Travis led 6 Lady Eagles in the Top 10 finishing 3rd in 21:28. Senior Leah Highley was 5th with Junior Audrey Woodard, Sophomore Sophia Rowland, and Freshman Erika Newhouse coming in 7-8-9. Junior Abby Sneed and Sophomore Lydia Trexler rounded out the varsity in 11th and 13th.

The Lady Eagles are back in action Saturday August 26th when they host the Oak Hill Invitational.

OHXC Golden Eagles Open Season with Near Perfect Score – Sneed Wins

The Top 30 State ranked OHXC Golden Eagles started the 2023 season by posting a near perfect score in defeating Manchester and Southwood. The foursome of Seniors Toby Sneed, Owen Jackson, and Trenton Sweet along with Sophomore Corban Tippey packed it up in the front going 1-2-3-4 just missing the perfect Top 5 sweep. Sneed led the charge winning in 17:21 with Jackson, Sweet, and Tippey all grouped up within the next 14 seconds.

Senior AJ Austin took 6th place helping the Golden Eagles post the near perfect 16 points. Manchester was 2nd with 48 while Southwood was shutout.

Freshman Kyle Brower was Top 10 in 9th while Senior Kaleb Westgate rounded out the varsity in 12th.

The Golden Eagles are off until Saturday August 26th when they host the Oak Hill Invitational.
