Slow Start Cost Knights Against Maconaquah
The Southwood Knights fell behind by 19 points early in the second quarter before falling to Maconaquah 40-27 Friday.
Down 6-0 in the first quarter Griffin Chambers would score from 5yds out and after the Cooper Drake extra point the Knights led 7-6. Maconaquah would then score twice in the last three minutes to lead the Knights 19-7 after one.
The Braves would increase their lead to 26-7 before Chambers connected with Maddox Marshall from 16yds out to make it 26-14. With 2:30 left in the quarter Bryce Rigney punched in a score from 4yds out as the Knights trailed 26-21 at the half.
Maconaquah would get the lone score in the third for a 33-21 lead.
The Braves would add to their lead in the fourth to make it 40-21 before Chambers hooked up with Will Winer from 25yds out for the 40-27 final.
