Results from Peru for Tuesday, August 22nd

The Peru Tennis team defeated Plymouth at Thrush Courts to remain undefeated on season. The Tigers once again swept the singles spots to take the match.

Peru’s Ian Potts secured the #1 singles spot with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.

Jayleb Walsh won the second point for the Tigers at #2 singles 6-2, 6-1.

The deciding point came at #3 singles with a 7-5, 6-2 win by Peru’s Jacob Boswell.

Plymouth swept the doubles spots with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Peru’s #1 doubles tandem of Jackson Boswell and Lucas Musser and a 6-4, 6-3 win over #2 doubles J.P. Pallante and Karter Schwartz.

With the win, the Tigers advanced their record to 5-0.

Peru hosted Maconaquah at Rock Hollow on Tuesday. Maconaquah won the match 181-219. The Tigers were led by Piercey Dyer’s round of 37, good enough for medalist honors. Bailee Beattie followed with 59, Raina Nero carded 60 (which included her first ever birdie), Lainey Wouster and Annie Dolly each finished with 63, and Maddie Caldwell shot 57.

The Tigers are back on the road Wednesday evening at Chippendale against Eastern and North Miami. The match is scheduled to begin at 5:30.
