Wabash JH Football Defeats Rochester

The Wabash junior high football teams took on Rochester Tuesday.

In the season opener, the Wabash Apaches 8th grade team beat Rochester 28-14.

Quarterback Gabriel Lepage connected with Adrian Haughn on a vertical route for the Apaches first touchdown. Harrison Phillipy punched the two point conversion into the endzone to put the Apaches up 8 points. In the last seconds of the first half, Gabriel Lepage found Adrian Haughn on a bicycle route for his second touchdown. Which allowed the Apaches to take a 14-8 lead at the half. In the second half Rochester scored and tied the game at 14. In the fourth quarter, the Apache defense locked in and forced a fumble which was recovered and returned for a touchdown by Quinnlynn Campbell. The Apaches forced another turnover on downs and as they were running out the clock Harrison Phillipy found the endzone again. The two point conversion was also scored by Harrison.
