The Wabash boys soccer team defeated Caston 1-0 Thursday.

The Wabash Boys earned their first win of the season in a narrow 1-0 victory on the road. The first half was evenly matched with both teams generating scoring chances. But the second half saw the Apaches step up the tempo and Will Galley found a gap in the defense and fired a shot that found the side netting. Caleb Daugherty provided the assist. Both Galley and Daugherty had 6 shots on the night while Ty Carpenter and Troy Guenin-Hodson had 5 shots apiece.

Max Carpenter stepped up to anchor the defense and Prestyn Jones logged a non-goalie save in the first half to keep the game even. Owen Honeycutt put in an impressive turn in the midfield fighting for loose balls and making key passes. Isaac Byers recorded a shutout with 5 saves. Wabash hosts Oak Hill on Tuesday, 9/5 at 5 pm as part of a doubleheader on Alumni field. The girls will play at 7 pm.
