Lady Warriors Soccer Matching Best Start Since 2016

The Lady Warriors Soccer Team has completed their best start since 2016 behind the efforts of a strong core of returners and six freshman. Captains Alison Smith, Graycie Storm and Emily Smith have set the tone for the season and have done a great job of demonstrating team expectations both on and off the field.

North Miami began the season with a road win at Eastern. Beating the Comets 2-0 with freshmen Kinzy Storm and Delilah Weaver finding the back of the net on assisted plays.

The “Road” Warriors continued their tough road schedule going up against #17 ranked Culver, falling 0-5, Manchester, falling 0-4 after holding them 0-0 at the half, and Wabash, falling 0-2 before picking up win number two at North White on Saturday, 8-3.

The team made a nice bounce back win on Saturday by keeping with team fundamentals. Goals were scored by Kinzy Storm (4), Graycie Storm (3) and Emily Smith. Assists were dished out by Emily Smith (2), Delilah Weaver, Brylee Edwards, Alison Smith, Haylee See and Abby Duncan. Center defender, Alison Smith, Sophomore wing back, Lilly Quinn and Freshman holding midfielder, Laina Kling, had solid performances and did well to begin several attacking sequences.

Coach Hanaway is pleased with the improvements she’s seen the team make this season in passing, field vision and confidence and is excited to watch the progress continue over the remainder of the season. The Warriors are back on the road this Wednesday in a non-conference match up with Laville before their home opener against Peru on September 11.
