Norse Capitalize In Win Over Squires


The Manchester Squires would score first with the Northfield Norsemen answering with 28 unanswered points to defeat the Squires 28-7 Friday.

The Squires would score the lone points in the first quarter when Logan Eastgate hooked up with Reiss Gaerte for a 36yd scoring strike and a 7-0 lead.

The Norse would answer in the second with two scores. The Squires fumbled the snap on a punt that was recovered by Carter Rogers in the end zone and the score was tied 7-7. With 33 seconds left in the half Jake Perney would find Rogers from 31yds out to give the Norse a 14-7 lead at the half.

After a scoreless third quarter the Norse would strike on a turnover midway through the fourth when Kameron Pratt picked up a fumble and raced 70yds to pay dirt. Leading 21-7 the Norse would strike one more time when Perney found Maddux Daniels from 19yds out for the 28-7 final
